On February 11th and September 30th (Eurobirdwatch) 2023, the activity "Waterbirds of Lagoa de Óbidos" took place in Lagoa de Óbidos, guided by Helder Cardoso, ornithologist responsible for counting waterbirds for the BioLagoa de Óbidos project.
The Óbidos Lagoon is a treasure rich in species diversity and it is a great pleasure to be able to share this knowledge and passion with so many people who accompany us.
Many species were observed in this excellent wetland. Flamingos, cormorants, spoonbills, plovers, oystercatchers, green legs, among many other species that brought joy to all participants.
In addition to the September activity, at night there was a monitoring session for nocturnal butterflies within the scope of the Rede de Estações de Borboletas Noturnas, led by Helder Cardoso.
