World Wetlands Day watching waterbirds

In celebration of World Wetlands Day, we headed to Lagoa de Óbidos with the 5th year of the Furadouro School Complex in the Municipality of Óbidos .

We started with a visit to the Fábrica de Água da Charneca guided by Águas do Tejo Atlântico  and then we went on a walk to Lagoa de Óbidos where everyone could learn to be an ornithologist using binoculars and a worksheet. field.

With the help of ornithologist Helder Cardoso  , they also had the opportunity to see the birds up close through the telescope.

One of the highlights of the morning was the observation of a great heron eating an eel and the other great moment was the observation of the largest seagull in the world (heron) also feeding, but on an octopus.

Activity promoted by the Professor highlighted in Statutory Mobility of the PATO Association and within the scope of the BioLagoa de Óbidos project, which has the support of the company Águas do Tejo Atlântico and Municipality of Óbidos .
